Staff support counselling service

Staff from Interserve Healthcare’s (IHC) Telford office will be supporting a counselling service as part of Give a Day of Your Time, a company initiative aimed to encourage employees to volunteer and support projects in the local communities where they live or work.

Confide Counselling is based in Shrewsbury and provides services to people in the town. The charity offers reduced rates to people on lower incomes or dependent on other personal circumstances.

Kelly Lowe, a governance systems assistant for IHC, is based at the business’s Grosvenor House office in Telford. She has helped organise for colleagues to support Confide Counselling through volunteering at an event they are hosting in Shrewsbury.

Confide will be running the event in the town on July 20th where they will be offering a confidential drop in counselling service for free and collecting donations.

Kelly said: “Confide carry out really important and much needed work in the area and aim to provide their services to people who will really benefit from them, but who potentially would struggle to pay the full fee.

“Their work is important. I think it fits in well with our ethos of providing care. We often deal with patients who may also have mental health issues and we are all really keen to support Confide.”

Staff will be helping Confide set up stalls, offering a variety of goods and raise awareness about mental health issues. If you can’t make it on the day you can find out more about Confide Counselling at www.confide.org.uk

Kelly said: “Give a Day of Your Time is a fantastic Interserve initiative and we are all delighted to be helping Confide. Confide offers counselling in Shrewsbury and Telford which includes face to face and telephone counselling throughout Shropshire for those over 11 years. We also provide counselling for Armed Forces personnel, Reservists, Veterans and their families
